Go: Audio have always been a band I’ve dabbled with over the years, but to be honest I’ve never really sat down and given them my full attention. But obviously, with their new album out on May 4, I think it’s about time they get the iTunes time they deserve.
Let’s be honest, they are your typical US pop/rock band; following in the likes of Fall Out Boy with their pretty guitar hooks and edgy attitude that they stamp out throughout every song.
Lets be honest though, as much as we are all looking for that ‘something different’ from our music these days - whether that be people dressing in clothes made out of bubbles, or people who talk along in time to the music rather than sing - there’s nothing better than a great summer time anthem to kick your shoes off to.
Every song here delivers on a different level, with one for the break up you want to hide, one for the summer party times, and one for those days when you just need a kick up the ass to move forward.
As far as albums go though, this is put together perfectly, with spot on drums that blend effortlessly into the guitars and bad ass bass that still manage to keep everything fresh and exciting as they mar their Blink 182-alike hits with synths to drag them into the 2009.
So if you spend your weekends shut in your bedroom messing about on Facebook, it’s time to get Go: Audio on your stereo and embrace the years of your youth, before your face looks like the bottom of your foot.
