X Factor 2013 runner-up Luke Friend was invited to busk as the new Hamleys Underground store in London was opened yesterday morning.
Luke said: "I always loved Hamleys as a child, so it’s amazing to be invited to perform here. Busking is an important part of who I am and where I’ve come from, so it will always mean a lot to me as a performer."
The 17 year old brought his acoustic style to the fans on Regent Street, as the Hamleys Underground was launched.
Hamleys CEO Gudjon Reynisson commented: "We’re delighted to have Luke Friend as our inaugural busker for the Hamleys Underground station. Buskers are an iconic part of the London Underground’s history and play an important role in lifting commuters’ spirits with their fantastic talents, so it’s great to bring some of the spirit of the Underground to Hamleys."
The new Hamleys London store is open Monday – Friday from 10am – 9pm; 9.30am to 9pm on Saturdays and 12pm – 6pm on Sundays.
