Lostprophets singer Ian Watkins has pleaded guilty to the attempted rape and sexual assault of a child under 13.
The 36-year-old rock musician accepted the charges in court today (26.11.13) also admitting to 10 other child sex offences but pleaded not-guilty to the rape of an under 13.
Watkins is facing jail after changing his plea at the start of the trial.
He claims he doesn't remember carrying out the depraved acts because he was a "heavy user" of class A drugs, including crystal meth.
Ian pleaded guilty to attempting to rape the 11-month-old baby of a fan - only referred to as 'Woman A' - conspiring to rape the baby daughter of another fan - known as 'Woman B' - and pleaded guilty to six charges relating to the capture, creation and possession of indecent images of children and one of possessing an extreme pornographic image of bestiality.
Cardiff Crown Court heard he was videoed sexually abusing the 11-month-old the day after the Lostprophets final album 'Weapons' was released in April 2012 and was "clearly identifiable" because of his collection of tattoos and his voice. The abuse was filmed by Watkins and took place in several hotels in London and south Wales.
The disgraced star, dressed in a dark blue suit, also admitted sexually assaulting the baby by touching him, and the child's mother, 'Woman A', admitted aiding and abetting the abuse of her son.
The evidence was collated by investigating officers from laptops, personal computers and mobile phones and one text message sent by Watkins to one of the women read: "If you belong to me, so does your baby."
Prosecuting barrister Chris Clee QC told the court: "Ian Watkins was the lead singer in a successful band called the Lostprophets. He accepts he was a determined and committed paedophile."
After hearing the altered plea and legal arguments from barristers for the defence and prosecution, Mr. Justice Royce called the jury into court and stated: "There will not be a trial in this case. The defendants have all pleaded guilty to nearly all the charges against them ... You have been saved from having to watch extremely graphic and distressing material."
Watkins - who waved at a group of young people in the public gallery as he stood in the dock - will be charged at a later hearing.
