Ian 'H' Watkins is reportedly set to appear on ‘Celebrity MasterChef’.
The 47-year-old Steps singer is expected to show off his culinary skills on the BBC programme with radio presenter Edith Bowman, 50, and ‘I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here!’ star Snoochie Shy, 31, also joining the lineup.
A source told The Sun newspaper's TVBiz column: “‘Celebrity MasterChef’ is one of telly’s most prized gigs. Hardly anyone turns it down.
“It’s seen as a real achievement as well as being relatively easy to fit alongside busy schedules. As such, the BBC always attracts an impressive range of names from a broad spectrum of celebrity.
“This trio really demonstrates that there’s someone for all ages and backs up the BBC’s pledge of continually trying to reach the younger audiences."
It's said the whole team are "excited" to greet the celebrities in the kitchen.
The insider added: “‘H’ is great fun and bosses are excited to see how his journey pans out, while Edith is such a safe pair of hands.
“Snoochie has great energy too and won new fans when she was in Gwrych Castle for ‘I’m A Celeb’.
“Everyone is excited for the new batch of celeb chefs.”
The programme will see co-presenters John Torode and Gregg Wallace put these famous faces through six weeks of cooking challenge before one is crowned champion.
Last year, opera singer and broadcaster Wynne Evans emerged victorious, beating the likes of Love Island’s Luca Bish and ‘Emmerdale’ actress Amy Walsh.
Reacting to the result, Wynne said: “This is a brilliant feeling. The kids will love this, they’ll be like "Dad! I can’t believe you did it when all you cook for us is beans on toast!”
“The experience has totally changed my life. It has just been beautiful and I can’t thank Gregg and John and everybody here at ‘MasterChef’ enough.
“When you start to believe in yourself, that’s when good things start to happen.”
