Ian McLagen has passed away.
The keyboardist for the Faces and Small Faces passed away yesterday in an Austin, Texas hospital after reportedly suffering a "massive stroke". He was 69.
After the Faces split in 1975, Ian began work as session musician which saw him working with the likes of Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, Billy Bragg and Chuck Berry.
Billy was one of the first to pay tribute to the musician, hailing him as one of British rock's "greatest players".
He tweeted: "I have lost a dear friend and British rock has lost one of its greatest players. RIP Ian McLagan".
Ronnie also used social media to express his sadness, and alongside images of praying hands he wrote: "God bless Bobby and Mac (sic)".
Guitarist with the Sex Pistols Steve Jones tweeted: "Sorry to hear Ian McLagan died today, he and the faces was a big part of my teens."
It's believed Ian was surrounded by friends and family when he died.
