Though Honey G proved to be a popular (and controversial) contestant during her time on this year’s X Factor competition in the UK, her debut single ‘The Honey G Show’ has failed to enter the UK’s Official Singles Chart within the Top 100.
The Radio Times reports that the song did manage to crack into the Top 150 however, with a peak of 149. It follows a slew of performances on TV shows such as Good Morning Britain and This Morning.
Speaking to Digital Spy, Honey G explained how she had a deal with Simon Cowell’s label Syco, but hadn’t signed on to complete a full album.
She said: “What I want to do is negotiate a deal. We want to make it happen. I don’t think there is a specific timescale – I think they are allowed to make two singles with me, and then if they make a third, they have to make an album.”
Chatting about a potential second single, she added: “Believe it or not, one of the Syco producers has already written a second single and wants to release it in the New Year which is amazing.
“I have the backing of Syco and hopefully this will help in my next step in negotiating a record deal with them.”
