Stavros Flatley & Susan Boyle... The favourites to win

Britain’s Got Talent has never been as close a battle as it was tonight, with the likes of Susan Boyle, Stavros Flatley and Diversity all giving show stopping performances in their bid to perform at the Royal Variety Performance.

Opening the show were the incredible Flawless, a troupe of dancers who gave Micheal Jackson a run for his money with their, quite frankly, flawless moves ot a medley of the King Of Pop’s Hits.

They faced tough competition from Diversity though, a troupe of brothers and friends who even managed to drag superman onto stage for the performance too, which, if I’m honest, seemed to be the stronger on the night; prompting Judge Amanda Holden to comment that they had; “Blown Flawless out of the water.”

The kiddie dancers were represented by everyone’s favourite little lad, Aidan Davis who strutted around on one of those moving catwalks you get in an airport, but didn’t quite ‘bring it’ to the same level as a couple of the dance troupes.

Elsewhere, Stavros Flatley blew the roof off the venue with their hilarious blend of Irish and Greek dancing, with a huge dash of comedy added in for extra measure! Enlisting what seemed to be the cast of Riverdance for backup and prancing about to Lord Of The Dance, you couldn’t take your eyes off this duo throughout their two minute slot.

The singers were also on top form tonight, with Hollie Steel conquering last night’s stage fright with an epic song from Phantom Of The Opera, however, there was still a bitter taste in some people’s mouths that had she been an adult, the would have been treated very differently in last nights semi, and that she didn’t really deserve to be here as much as the other kids, who never forgot their words or moves.

Shaheen Jafargholi and Shaun Smith also put up a real fight for the boys camp whilst family singers, 2 Grand repeated their audition song with a rather disappointing rendition of Aladdin’s A Whole New World before super cool saxaphonist Julian Smith quite literally blew us away.

The talking point of the night had to be Scottish star Susan Boyle, who really proved just why she is the most talked about lady in the world at the moment, after she pulled off a tear-jerking rendition of ‘I Dreamed A Dream.’ She even addresses those ‘meltdown’ rumours by telling the millions of viewers she had just come to sing “amongst friends.”

So, they’ve done all they can do, and now it’s up to us to pick up the vote and choose our winner… but who will be crowned the most talented Briton tonight?
