Abdul Easy Target For Critics.... American Idol judge Paula Abdul fears she has become an easy target for critics because she is the most compassionate judge on the popular reality show.The Straight Up singer's odd behaviour during live interviews last week (ends19Jan07) has been questioned after she seemed to be impaired, but had blamed a technical glitch for her strange interviews, which left her speaking on camera to one TV station, while getting audio in her ear from another.She says the appearance on the hit show has been a blessing, but one that comes with constant media scrutiny, including speculation about drug and alcohol use.Adbul says, "I've never been drunk in my life. I don't do recreational drugs."I've been in this business 20 years (and) never had to weather the storm of publicity, controversy. It's this show...I love it, but it's often daunting."I'm the only female. I'm the empathetic one. I'm the artist. I'm the pinata (candy stuffed Mexican toy beaten with a stick at parties)."
