Beginning her career aged just 17, Hannah Trigwell set out to the streets in and around Leeds, busking to earn a living.
She continued to work on honing her skills and craftmanship while studying at the local university, where she recently graduated with a degree in Biology.
During that time, re-worked covers by Hannah were posted onto the internet, and within just moments, people were talking about the 'new sensation'.
The St. Helier Online Music Awards saw her named 'Best International Unsigned Act', and more than two million views were amassed quickly on her version of Leonard Cohen's 'Hallelujah'.
A manager then jumped on board, and she has fans in high places with Louis Tomlinson of One Direction tweeting about how much he enjoyed her voice.
Now, with a global reach, Hannah's released two original material EPs which have both reached the top 10 of the singer/songwriter charts on iTunes, and her videos have collectively been viewed over 15 million times.
Adding Ed Sheeran and The Script to her ever-expanding list of fans, she was offered a collaboration from Boyce Avenue - one of the most successful YouTube era bands around, and a slot on their UK tour in 2012.
The series of shows were a roaring success, and after completing the dates Hannah was offered another major opportunity - a signing to the band's label 3 Peace Records.
Jumping at that opportunity, Hannah says: “Having your label also run by musicians helps, I’m self-taught and it’s helped me learn a lot about technique with guitar playing and composition. It’s about creating great music rather than just selling music, which is really good for me because it’s what I wanted to do.”
Focusing now on her music full-time will see this rising star go to big places, and she's heading out on her debut headline UK tour later this month.
February will see the release of her debut single 'Hurricane', and we can't wait to see just how high she soars.
