One of the most hotly fought music battles each year is for the highly coveted Mercury Music Award, and this year’s nominations are in… but who gets your vote?
Amongst the twelve lucky finalists are a good smidgen of FemaleFirst favourites in the form of Kasabian, La Roux and Bat For Lashes whilst other newbies such as Florence & The Machine and Lisa Hannigan have a chance of netting the £22,000 prize money.
The award, which is in it’s 17th year this time around, aims to honour the best in British and Irish music, and the lucky winner will be announced on 8 September.
