Is it true that one of your songs was on a chewing gum advert?

Will I have heard of it?

A : Yes absolutely true. My song Stuttering was on a Dentyne Ice commercial in the US for ages. We sold over a 100,000 singles of it and were just about to launch in America when EMI pulled the plug! Shame. But now we’ll get to release Battling Giants there properly so that’s exciting. If you want to download Stuttering it’s on iTunes!

Reading the gossip pages of magazines it seems like celebs are always getting it on with each other. Have you got any secret celebrity crushes?

A : Hmmm…! Well - there’s no-one I’d jump on! Besides, I’m engaged, so am happy with my lot, thanks! But I know quite a few celebs like to cause a stir - it makes the press. Not my style..

What's the funniest/ most embarrassing thing that's ever happened to you
in your career?

A: Umm.. Er...
To be honest there have been loads of moments. But the funniest thing ever happened when I first started in a band at school. My old bass player - Adam - used to be so laid back he almost fell over. Probably coz he loved smoking weed. Anyway, at one gig, the in house engineer decided to set off flares at the front of the Stage during our last song as a big finale. Adam had forgotten thT was going to happen.. So when these huge red flames exploded right in front on Ad, he literally shot into the air, smacked his head on the mic stand and freaked out. I stopped singing coz I almost wet myself laughing . I will NEVER forget that

Hi Jamie,
I'm a bit of a musician myself (I play guitar and write the odd song or
two). I was just wondering what advice you would have for someone who
wants a career in music?

Ok first bit of advice - make sure u have the talent! That means asking someone outside of your family and friends to judge a performance / song. Talent is a basic requisite - not an extra - as are determination and star quality. None of them are negotiable. Sorry to be blunt but there are sooo many people trying to make it, u have to be one in a million. Literally. If that doesnt faze u or u just know ur good, then go for it and don't ever ever ever give up! Good luck

Thx laura!
The songs are always from my own life experiences - other than a couple of covers I've done. the latest B-side is Poker Face for example. U can get to precious sometimes so covers lighten it up a bit. Check it out on iTunes on Sunday!
