The Mercury Music Prize is one of the most sought after gongs in the business, and this year Little Boots and Doves have become the bookies joint favourite to scoop the trophy.
Little Boots, a Blackpool-born starlet released her debut single, Hands, earlier this month, and it shot right into the charts at number five last week, whilst Doves's fourth studio album, Kingdom of Rust has equalled the betting odds, with both having 5-5 bets.
Elsewhere though, Bat For Lashes’ Two Suns is third favourite with 6-1, and the unreleased debut's from La Roux and Florence And The Machine have also been given high odds.
Previous winners of the Mercury Music Prize include Elbow's The Seldom Seen Kid and Klaxons's Myths of the Near Future.
