Deadmau5 has scrapped a string of upcoming gigs after collapsing on stage during a performance in Washington, D.C. on Friday.
he Grammy-nominated beatmaker, who regularly plays his sets wearing an oversized mouse head disguise, was admitted to hospital following the incident at the 9:30 Club, in which he suffered "exhaustion and vomiting".
Doctors have ordered him to rest and, as a result, he's postponed a total of nine dates on his current tour, including shows in Canada, Italy, Spain and Japan. A statement posted on his website reads: "Deadmau5 is sad to advise his fans that on the strict advice of the doctors, he now has no choice but to cancel the next (nine) shows of his (summer) tour schedule to allow for his recovery.
"(Deadmau5) thanks all his fans for their understanding and support."
