Tyrese Gibson is to star in 'Transformers: The Last Knight'.
Gibson has confirmed his return to the robot action franchise as Robert Epps, Chief Master Sergeant of the United States Air Force, announcing the news on his Instagram account.
Alongside a video of himself in a limousine with director Michael Bay, he wrote: "Rumor has it ... Nah ... Robert Epps is back!!!!!! #T5 summer 2017 just got even more. (sic)"
In the video, Gibson says to the camera: "It's crazy to know I got this transformers logo and I got Mister Transformers himself. (sic)"
As the camera pans to reveal Bay sitting in the next seat, the director laughs and says: "Tyrese, put your camera away, put your camera away!"
Gibson the says: "Oh we gonna do this again, you gonna get shy on me all of a sudden?"
Gibson was last seen in the third film with Shia LeBouf and Megan Fox - who have departed the franchise.
Josh Duhamel, who played William Lennox in the first three Transformers movies, is also set to reprise his role for the movie alongside Mark Wahlberg will return as struggling inventor Cade Yeager.
Sir Anthony Hopkins is the latest new big name to be added to the franchise and the announcement was made on the official 'Transformers' Twitter page earlier this month.
The post read: "The man, the myth, the legend - help us welcome Sir Anthony Hopkins to the #transformers universe. (sic)"
Peter Cullen will also return to voice Optimus Prime, leader of the Autobots.
'Transformers: The Last Knight' is the fifth movie in the franchise and is due for release in June 2017.
