Karsen Liotta has remembered her dad Ray as a "truly amazing person" more than two years after his death.
The 'Goodfellas' star passed away in May 2022 at the age of 67 as a result of heart failure and now his daughter Karsen, 25, - who he had with ex-wife Michelle Grace - has reflected on his legacy at the opening of '1992', which will serve as his final on-screen appearance.
She told Us Weekly: "It’s a weird thing to be representing somebody that’s not here, but I feel honored, and I’m glad to be here on behalf of him and his legacy in general. He was amazing, truly. This sounds obviously biased. He was truly an amazing person, friend, father, the most ride-or-die, trustworthy, honest, loyal, kind, sweet-hearted person, and definitely the funniest person you’ll ever meet."
Ray stars alongside Tyrese Gibson and Scott Eastwood in the new thriller that follows a man trying to rebuild his life and his relationship with his son amid the turbulent Los Angeles riots in 1992, and the Hollywood star finished filming his scenes just months before his death.
Karsen has been carving out her own acting career over the course of the last decade having appeared in series like 'Shades of Blue' and 'Blackbirds' but is keen to follow in her father's footsteps with a role in a mafia film.
She said: "That’s got to be in my blood somewhere!"
The actor was honoured with a posthumous star on Hollywood Walk of Fame in Los Angeles in February. T
he ceremony was attended by Liotta's fiance Jacy Nittolo alongside Karsen, who accepted the award on her dad's behalf and expressed her pride in all his achievements.
She said: "I’m so touched to be accepting this honour on behalf of my dad. I couldn’t be more proud of him. He was a one-of-a-kind actor, and the best friend, brother and father anyone could ask for. I lucked out with you.
"If you have a Ray in your life, you’re lucky. Thank you for your work, and the imprint you left on me and all of those who love you. "Everyone deserves a Ray in their life.”
