The Martian has returned to the top of the U.S. box office after a tough battle with Goosebumps.
The Martian was toppled by Goosebumps last week but narrowly reclaimed the top spot after the two movies went head to head once again. The Martian took a further $15.9 million compared to the $15.5 million haul of Goosebumps.
There was no move for Bridge of Spies as the Cold War movie starring Tom Hanks and directed by Steven Spielberg stayed put at number three.
The Last Witch Hunter was the highest new entry inside the top ten this week as the Vin Diesel led film opened at number four. However, the movie only managed to gross just over $10.8 million in its opening weekend.
Diesel revealed earlier this year that a sequel to this movie was already in the pipeline - will it now go ahead after such a poor opening weekend in the U.S?
Animation movie Hotel Transylvania 2 was the second non-mover inside the top five as it stayed put at number five.
Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension is the new and final instalment of the popular horror franchise and it opened at number six.
There was disappointment for Danny Boyle's Steve Jobs this weekend as the movie could only manage to open at number seven. The biopic has been met well by the critics and is tipped to be an Oscar contender, but the movie only grossed $7.3 million in its opening weekend on release. Will this hurt the film's Oscar chances?
Steve Jobs is the first film for Boyle since the release of Trance and sees Michael Fassbender taken on the title role alongside Kate Winslet, Seth Rogen, and Jeff Daniels.
Crimson Peak was this week's biggest faller as the Guillermio del Toro directed movie dropped four places from four to number eight. The Intern was also on the way down as the comedy slipped from seven to this week's number nine.
Sicario has been a huge hit with the critics and is widely expected to be in the Oscar race next year, but the thriller fell two places this week to round off the top ten.
