The Jungle Book has grossed over $700 million at the global box office.
The Jungle Book is a big live-action adaptation of the Rudyard Kipling novel and sees Jon Favreau back in the director's chair.
It is the latest live-action hit for Disney and follows in the footsteps of Maleficent and Cinderella in recent years. Not only has the movie raked in the cash at the box office, but it has also been a huge critical smash with critics and audiences falling in love with the film.
This is the first time that we have seen Favreau in the director's chair since Chef and is no stranger to the blockbuster with Iron Man and Iron Man 2 under his belt.
The director has brought together an impressive voice cast as Bill Murray, Scarlett Johansson, Idris Elba, Ben Kingsley, Christopher Walken, and Lupita Nyong'o are all on board. The film also introduces us to the acting talents of Neel Sethi, who makes his debut in the central role of Mowgli.
The Jungle Book is still top of the U.S. box office but was toppled on the UK chart by Captain America: Civil War. The latest Marvel film is released in America this weekend and is destined for the top spot.
After just three weeks on release, the movie is already the fourth highest-grossing film of the year behind Zootropolis, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Deadpool.
The Jungle Book is eyeing up that third spot and is currently closing in on Deadpool's gross of $761 million - a total I think that it will easily surpass.
2016 has already been a fantastic year for Disney as Zootropolis has also performed well at the box office. The movie has grossed over $933 million so far and could be the first film of the year to break $1 billion at the box office.
The Jungle Book is out now.
