Straight Outta Compton has ended the reign of Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation as it has stormed to the number one spot this weekend.
Straight Outta Compton is one of the most anticipated music biopics of the year and charts the rise of NWA and the backlash the likes of Ice Cube and Dr Dre faced along the way.
The movie, which sees F. Gary Gray in the director's chair and O'Shea Jackson, Jr. playing his father Ice Cube, has grossed $56.1 million over the weekend to topple Mission: Impossible.
Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation fell just a single place this week as it took a further $17.3 million. So far, the film has grossed over $373 million at the global box office and is one of the biggest blockbusters of the summer.
The Man from UNCLE was the second and final new entry inside the top ten as the Guy Ritchie directed film opened at number three.
The Man from UNCLE is the first film from Ritchie since Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows back in 2011 and sees him team up with Henry Cavill and Armie Hammer for the first time, Alicia Vikander and Hugh Grant are just two other big names on the cast list.
Fantastic Four dropped two places from two to four this week, while the Gift was also down two as it slipped from three to round off the top five.
Ant-Man was out of the top five this week as the latest Marvel film dropped to number six. Ant-Man is the second of two Marvel films to be released this year and has grossed over $336 million worldwide so far.
Vacation was this week's bigger faller as the comedy dropped three places from four to number seven. Minions, which is the highest grossing animation film of the year so far, was also down this week as it slipped two spots from six to number eight.
Ricki and the Flash marks the return of Meryl Streep to the big screen as she teams up with filmmaker Jonathan Demme and it was down two place this week at number seven.
Trainwreck is a movie that really has send Amy Schumer's star rocketing this summer and the comedy was also down two from eight to number ten.
