Poltergeist is the latest classic horror movie to be given a bit of a makeover and is set to hit the big screen in May. While there are still a few weeks before the release, some brand new images from the film have been unveiled.

Poltergeist was originally directed by Tobe Hooper but this time around, it is Gil Kenan who is in the director's chair giving this classic horror film a more contemporary feel and bringing this terrifying story to a new generation.
Poltergeist is the third feature film of Kenan's career - coming after Monster House and City of Ember - and is set to be the biggest movie of his career to date. David Lindsay-Abaire - who wrote the scripts for Oz the Great and Powerful and Rise of the Guardians - is also on board having penned the screenplay.
A terrific cast has been assembled for the film as Sam Rockwell and Rosemarie DeWitt lead the cast as married couple Eric and Amy Bowen. They are joined by Jared Harris, Jane Adams, Saxon Sharbino, and Kennedi Clements.
