Pete's Dragon

Yes, Pete's Dragon is set to return this summer and the first teaser trailer for the film has finally arrived, with a very brief look at the dragon. Check it out:

Pete's Dragon sees David Lowery back in the director's chair for what is his first feature film since Ain't Them Bodies Saints back in 2013 - this is the biggest movie of Lowery's career to date and it is great to see him tackling a blockbuster project for the first time.

As well as being in the director's chair, Lowery has teamed up with Toby Halbrooks to pen the screenplay, which is based on the story by S.S. Field and Seton I. Miller.

Robert Redford and Bryce Dallas Howard are set to team up to take on the central roles of Mr. Meacham and his daughter Grace. The movie is also set to introduce us to the acting talents of Oakes Fegley, who will take on the role of Pete.

Fegley is no stranger to acting with TV series Person of Interest and Boardwalk Empire and movie This Is Where I Leave You under his belt - needless to say, this is the biggest film of his career to date and will send his star rocketing.

Redford, Dallas Howard, and Fegley will be joined on the cast list by Wes Bentley, Karl Urban, Craig Hall, Oona Laurence, and Isiah Whitlock Jr.

For years, old wood carver Mr. Meacham (Redford) has delighted local children with his tales of the fierce dragon that resides deep in the woods of the Pacific Northwest. To his daughter, Grace (Howard), who works as a forest ranger, these stories are little more than tall tales... until she meets Pete (Fegley).

Pete is a mysterious 10-year-old with no family and no home who claims to live in the woods with a giant, green dragon named Elliott. And from Pete's descriptions, Elliott seems remarkably similar to the dragon from Mr. Meacham's stories.

With the help of Natalie (Laurence), an 11-year-old girl whose father Jack (Bentley) owns the local lumber mill, Grace sets out to determine where Pete came from, where he belongs, and the truth about this dragon.

Disney's Pete's Dragon is released 12th August.
