Oz The Great and Powerful

Oz The Great and Powerful

Oz The Great and Powerful has comfortably seen off the challengers to top the UK box office.

The movie has already scored a #1 in the U.S. and it now holds the top spot both sides of the Atlantic.

The film took £3.7 million in it's opening weekend to topple Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters.

Sam Raimi returns to the director's chair for the film while James Franco teams up with Mila Kunis, Rachel Weisz and Michelle Williams.

Side Effects was the second of four new entries on the top ten this week as it was new in at number two.

The film is set to be the last time that we see Steven Soderbergh in the director's chair for a big screen feature film but he does go out with a bang.
