Musical superstar Olivia Rodrigo is releasing an all-new film onto Disney+ next month (March, 2022) which will follow the singer on an exciting road trip.
Olivia Rodrigo: driving home 2 u (a SOUR film) is set to debut in just a few weeks’ time, and fans are already looking forward to seeing the pop star behind-the-scenes.
Rodrigo essentially put herself on the map as someone to keep an eye on in the entertainment business, as her first full-length album, SOUR, released only last year (2021), was loved by millions.
good 4 u is perhaps one of the most popular songs on the album; with its catchy chorus and brilliantly-written lyrics, it’s no wonder the song has been used in multiple TikTok trends and has been listened to non-stop.
Ayo Davis, president, Disney Branded Television, comments: “This is a unique film experience where for the first-time fans will understand how her album came to be and why it was such a personal journey for Olivia. See the announcement post via Instagram below:
“This is not a concert film per say, but really, an opportunity to experience first-hand how Olivia Rodrigo became one of the biggest music stars of the day – and a chance to see her perform the songs from SOUR like never before.”
driving home 2 u will feature 11 songs from SOUR, and will see the songs performed with brand new sounds in incredible locations that include Mojave Airplane Boneyard, Roy's Motel & Café, Arcosanti and the Red Rock Canyon State Park.
The movie will also include special guest performances by GRAMMY-nominated artist Jacob Collier, along with Blu DeTiger and Towa Bird.
The upcoming feature will dig into how SOUR came to life through Olivia’s personal experiences as well as behind-the-scenes footage that show private moments and the singer’s talents both in and out of the studio.
