James Gunn has revealed that we won't see John C. Reilly or Benicio del Toro in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2.
Filming on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 is already under way and will see Gunn back in the director's chair for the second Marvel film of his career.
Reilly and del Toro took on the roles of Corpsman Dey and The Collector in the first film but it seems that they will no be making a return in the sequel.
When asked about Reilly during a Facebook Q&A, the director said: "John C. Reilly is not back for Volume 2, unfortunately."
The filmmaker went on to reveal that del Toro would also be missing from the line-up, saying that the character "just didn't fit into Volume 2."
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 will see Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Bradley Cooper, Dave Bautista, and Vin Diesel will be back as Peter Quill, Gamora, Rocket, Drax, and Groot.
There are still plenty of rumours whirling about who will be the big new additions to the cast list with the likes of Sylvester Stallone and Kurt Russell being linked to roles.
Guardians of the Galaxy hit the big screen back in 2014 and went on to be a huge critical and commercial success. The film grossed over $773 million at the global box office by the end of its theatrical run.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 will be the first of three Marvel films of 2017 and is set to be one of the biggest. The movie will be followed by Spider-Man and Thor: Ragnarok.
It has still not bee revealed if we will see any of the Guardians of the Galaxy characters make an appearance in Avengers: Infinity War.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 is released 28th April 2017.
