From the director of Alien (1979), Ridley Scott, comes a true story about the famous Gucci family and the dark secrets some members held.
Ridley Scott is a genius when it comes to movies, as Alien was an immediate classic, with other films including Blade Runner (1982) and The Martian (2015) only increasing his popularity and solidifying his talents as a director.
House of Gucci, which is based on a book with the same name by Sara Gay Forden, stars Star Wars actor Adam Driver with pop icon and actress Lady Gaga alongside one another, as they help tell the story of Patrizia Reggiani and her orders to kill her ex-husband, Maurizio Gucci.
While the Gucci family had riches and success, it seemed that they had many secrets. Gaga and Driver appear to be an excellent paring, and their dynamic should perfectly portray that of Reggiani and Gucci.
Gucci is a luxury fashion house based in Florence, Italy. Their products include handbags, ready-to-wear, footwear, accessories, makeup, fragrances, and even home decoration. Gucci was founded in 1921 by Guccio Gucci, in Florence.
The movie is set to explore the events leading up to the potential murder, and what followed. As the family were both wealthy and famous, the case was of course high priority in the press, making it a very well-known and shocking scandal.
The trailer showcases some stunning cinematography, set design and costumes, with some perfectly delivered lines and the right amount if intrigue to perk the ears of viewers.
The movie boasts an all-star cast, including Jared Leto, Al Pacino, Jeremy Irons, Salma Hayek and Jack Huston.
Many may not be thrilled to see Leto on this list, after his portrayal of the iconic villain The Joker in David Ayer’s Suicide Squad (2016), but it seems as though the musician-turned-actor should be given a chance.
After all, his role in Blade Runner 2049 (2017) was brilliant, and Marvel movie Morbius seems to be a fantastic and mysterious addition to Sony’s version of a Marvel universe.
Gaga is of course an icon in the music industry, however her role in A Star is Born (2018) and horror series American Horror Story has paved her way into cinema, and she is doing outstandingly well.
House of Gucci will hit UK cinemas on November 26th, 2021.
