Kung Fu Panda 3 Remains Top of U.S. Box Office

Kung Fu Panda 3 has comfortably remained the number one movie in the U.S. as it easily held off the challenge from Hail, Caesar!

Kung Fu Panda 3, which sees Jack Black back to voice the central character of Po, took $21 million in its second weekend on release to keep hold of the top spot.

Hail, Caesar! marks the return of Joel and Ethan Coen to the director's chair and was the first of three new entries, opening at number two.

The Coen brothers have brought together an impressive cast list as Josh Brolin, George Clooney, Scarlett Johansson, and Channing Tatum are just some of the names on board. The film is set to open the Berlin International Film Festival later this week.

The Revenant slipped a single place to this week's number three as Star Wars: The Force Awakens was also down one at number four.

The Choice and Pride and Prejudice and Zombies were both new in at five and six. Pride and Prejudice and Zombies is an adaptation of the novel of the same name by Seth Grahame-Smith, which is inspired by the Jane Austen classic.

The Finest Hours and Ride Along 2 were both three place fallers as they finished the weekend at seven and eight.

The Boy slipped just two spots as is dropped from seven to this week's number nine.

But it was comedy film Dirty Grandpa that was the biggest faller as the Zac Efron and Robert De Niro film fell from six to round off this week's top ten.
