Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 is already one of the most anticipated films of 2017 and a fantastic piece of concept art has been unveiled.
The movie sees James Gunn back in the director's chair and the sequel really is promising to be even bigger than its predecessor, which hit the big screen back in 2014.
Empire has released this fantastic piece of artwork, which shows the Guardians battling a new foe.
As well as being back in the director's chair, Gunn has also penned the film's screenplay. This is the first movie for the filmmaker since he steered Guardians of the Galaxy to success two years ago.
Chris Pratt is back as he reprises the role of Peter Quill while Zoe Saldana, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, and Dave Bautista will reprise their roles as Gamora, Rocket, Groot, and Drax.
There are also some exciting new additions to the cast list as Kurt Russell will star as Ego, Elizabeth Debicki has been cast in the role of Ayesha and Pom Klementieff is on board as Mantis.
Sylvester Stallone is another of the new names on the cast list but his role has not yet been revealed.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will be the first of three Marvel films to be released next year - Spider-Man: Homecoming and Thor: Ragnarok being the others - as the studio continues to build towards Avengers: Infinity War.
Earlier this week Diesel took to Facebook to confirm that we will be seeing the Guardians in the upcoming Avengers movie; it will be the first time that we have seen these characters appear outside of the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is released 28th April 2017.
