Scream 6 is officially in the works
Paramount and Spyglass are officially moving forward with another Scream feature, and production is even said to begin in summer this year.
The original Scream debuted in 1996, and the latest instalment released only weeks ago on January 14th, 2022. Fans seemed to love the new cast for Scream (2022), so it seems that another movie was inevitable.
The new characters seen in this year’s Scream paved the way for another feature, as the sequel did very well with fans of the franchise; Sidney Prescott’s (Neve Campbell) role in this iconic series may not be over, either...
The Meg 2 gets official title as filming begins
Jason Statham is back for a second time to tackle with more colossal sharks in The Meg 2, which now has its official title.
Meg 2: The Trench is set to begin filming rather soon, confirmed by Statham during an interview with Variety; the site confirms that the upcoming action movie has begun filming at Leavesden Studios, just outside of London.
While the cast and plot are somewhat hidden at the moment, news should become more frequent as the film moves forward with production.
No Way Home to release on Starz within the next six months
Spider-Man: No Way Home gets six month streaming release window as the movie continues to rule the box office.
No Way Home released in December last year (2021), and was instantly one of, if not the biggest film of the year; fans were mesmerised and blown away by just how incredible this movie was.
Unlike other Marvel movies, No Way Home will release not on Disney+, but on Starz; Spider-Man is owned by Sony, who have a deal with Lionsgate to release their films on Starz.
The Color Purple musical adaptation casts Peacemaker star
The movie musical adaptation of the Color Purple has cast Peacemaker star, Danielle Brooks, as Sofia in the upcoming feature.
The film is set to bring the Broadway show of the same name into a movie format next year (2023); Oprah Winfrey, who played Sofia in the 1985 version of the film, posted a tweet to celebrate Brooks’ part in the movie.
The message contained a heartfelt message from Winfrey, as well as video of her telling Brooks of her new and exciting role; Brooks played the character on stage in 2015, and will be reprising her role on the big screen.
Nic Cage’s Dracula movie begins shooting
Universal Pictures have recently released a tweet confirming that Renfield, starring Nicolas Cage, has begun filming.
Cage will be playing Dracula in the upcoming film, which will centre on the famous character's main henchman, R. M. Renfield, who will be played by Nicholas Hoult (Warm Bodies, X-Men: First Class).
No release date has been set as of yet, but with production underway, we could see a date reveal soon.
Rosamund Pike to star in upcoming thriller
Rosamund Pike (Johnny English Reborn, The World’s End) will be starring in Rich Flu, a movie that sees a deadly virus target the wealthy.
Withinb the film, the fictional disease is said to make its way through the rich, reducing the number of millionaires and billionaires on Earth.
Rich Flu will explore what happens when those who run the world are buried beneath it.
Netflix thriller Windfall gets release date
Netflix's forthcoming thriller, titled Windfall, has been given a release date for March 18th, 2022.
The movie stars Jason Segal (Bad Teacher), Lily Collins (Netflix’s Emily in Paris), and Jesse Plemons (Netflix’s Black Mirror).
A brief synopsis for the film revealed that it will focus on an egotistical tech billionaire and his wife who realise their vacation home is being robbed - while they're still inside.
