Hocus Pocus 2 release date teased by producer
Producer for upcoming Disney film Hocus Pocus 2, Adam Shankman, has announced that filming on the sequel is finished, and has also teased a Halloween release date on Disney+ this year (2022).
The original movie released in 1993, and gradually became a beloved feature; it is now considered one of the most popular Halloween films of all time.
Shankman took to Instagram to announce that the sequel has wrapped filming, and that it will be released at Halloween; the perfect date for such a highly-anticipated film!
George Clooney discusses his new film
Iconic Hollywood star, George Clooney, cannot seem to hide his joy in regards to his upcoming rom-com, titled Ticket to Paradise, which he will star in with Julie Roberts (Pretty Woman).
The film, which is in its final stages of shooting in Australia, is set to land in cinemas in October of this year, and Clooney couldn’t be more excited to be reunited with Roberts and get the movie finished.
“Well, this is something special...” Clooney told Deadline in a recent interview; the actor clearly has passion for this project, which will surely translate on screen.
Jason Momoa in talks for Fast and Furious 10
Jason Momoa, known for his role as DC’s Aquaman and, more recently, as Duncan Idaho in Dune (2021), is reportedly in discussion to take on the role of a villain in the next Fast and Furious movie.
The Fast and Furious franchise began in 2001, with its ninth instalment releasing last year (2021); development on the tenth film was announced in 2020, with the note that the tenth and eleventh films would conclude the main narrative.
The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that Momoa is in final negotiations to join the Fast and Furious family for their tenth ride; it is also suspected that the actor is looking at a villainous role, which will be very exciting to see.
Trailer for Texas Chainsaw Massacre to release on Monday
On Monday (January 31st, 2022), the trailer for upcoming horror movie, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is set to be released - ‘The face of madness returns.’
The feature is a reboot of sorts, as it will follow directly from the 1974 original - much like how 2018’s Halloween is a direct sequel to the 1978 slasher - and will ignore any films that come in-between.
Yesterday (January 28th, 2022), Netflix Geeked on Twitter shared the new poster for the movie, which included the Netflix release date to be February 18th, 2022; keep an eye out for the trailer, coming in just two days' time.
Christopher Nolan’s new feature begins filming soon
Director of The Dark Knight trilogy, Christopher Nolan, has a new movie in the works which is set to begin filming very soon.
Nolan’s new film is titled Oppenheimer, and will focus on the life of J. Robert Oppenheimer, an American theoretical physicist who was significant in the creation of the world’s first nuclear weapons.
Cillian Murphy (Peaky Blinders) is set to portray the titular character; the movie also stars Emily Blunt, Matt Damon and Robert Downey Jr., with Florence Pugh and Rami Malek.
Details on new Tom Cruise space movie released
Tom Cruise, one of Hollywood’s best-known and perhaps more controversial actors, is said to be starring in a new movie that will shoot scenes on the International Space Station.
The filmmakers at Universal are, via Variety, currently working on the script for the feature, which will see Cruise portray an everyman who finds out he is the only one that can save the Earth from an unknown threat.
Cruise is known for doing many of his own stunts, many of which can be seen in the Mission Impossible franchise (which is how he broke his foot!); filming in space might seem a little ‘out there’, but it does appear to suit Cruise as he is a very daring and dedicated actor.
Simon Pegg says he is working with Edgar Wright once again
Simon Pegg, a beloved British actor best-known for starring in The Cornetto Trilogy, has teased a potential new project with director of aforementioned trilogy, Edgar Wright.
Wright and Pegg have been somewhat joined at the hip career-wise for years, ever since their collaboration on TV’s Spaced; in an interview with ComicBook, Pegg teased that his work with friend and colleague Wright may not be at an end just yet.
“...we’re talking about stuff,” says Pegg, “there’s been ideas thrown around and we’re circling something”. It seems that we will all have to wait on the edge of our seats for any more news regarding what will no doubt be an amazing collaboration.
