The Black Film Critics Circle (BFCC) has voted 'Creed' as the best film of 2015.
The seventh movie in the Rocky franchise - which sees Sylvester Stallone reprise his role as Rocky Balboa - was announced as the winner by BFCC co-president Mike Sargent.
The movie also picked up acting awards, with Michael B. Jordan winning Best Actor, Stallone picking up Best Supporting Actor and Tessa Thompson winning Best Supporting Actress.
'Creed' sees Rocky training Adonis, the son of his opponent-turned-friend Apollo Creed, for his own championship match and has won rave reviews from critics.
Meanwhile, 'Straight Outta Compton' was a winner in the Best Screenwriting in an Original Screenplay and Best Ensemble Performance categories.
The film, about the rise and fall of the Los Angeles hip-hop group N.W.A. was also named the third best picture of the year.
Other winners included Brie Larson, who took home Best Actress for 'Room', 'Inside Out' for Best Animated Feature and 'Mad Max: Fury Road' won Best Cinematography and Best Directing for George Miller.
