Apple TV+ has released some great trailers recently, including one for The Essex Serpent, which releases onto the platform today (May 13th, 2022); now, Apple TV+ reveals a trailer for an all-new movie on its way next month (June, 2022).
Cha Cha Real Smooth is a forthcoming Apple TV+ Original that stars Dakota Johnson (50 Shades franchise), Brad Garrett (‘Til Death), Leslie Mann (Big Daddy), and newcomers Vanessa Burghardt and Evan Assante; the cast also includes Cooper Raiff (I Would Have Kissed You), who will be directing and starring, as well as having written the film itself.
Andrew (Raiff) is a 22-year-old who is fresh out of college, but doesn’t have a stark path in front of him. He’s moved back home with his family in New Jersey, which he seems fine with, but like any adult, he’d rather have his own space.
While Andrew may have some decent skills, the thing he’s most proud of is his knowledge of how to get a party started. This gets him an ideal job of motivational dancing at the bar and bat mitzvahs for his younger brother’s classmates.
However, when Andrew becomes friends with a local mother, Domino (Johnson), and her daughter Lola (Burghardt), he finally has a vision for his future – even if it doesn’t belong to him.
The trailer for Cha Cha Real Smooth, which was released yesterday (May 12th, 2022), shows a slightly uncertain Andrew, but he definitely has a spark in him, and is a trustworthy person, as Domino and her daughter discover.
The trailer also has a wonderful sense of calm and hope about it, suggesting that the upcoming film has a lot of heart, a good sense of humour, and a simplistic yet engaging story that audiences are sure to find charming.
Despite the small cast, there is a lot of potential for a brilliant movie. With recognisable faces like Johnson’s, as well as newcomers, there is definitely a lot to look out for.
Cha Cha Real Smooth will debut in selected cinemas, as well as on Apple TV+ on June 17th, 2022.
