Homer's Odyssey A Hit At The Box Office....

TV's first family The Simpsons proved just as popular on the big screen, claiming top spot in the U.S. movie chart at the weekend (28-29Jul07).The yellow cartoon characters took $72 million (£36 million) in The Simpsons' Movie during the film's opening weekend, knocking Adam Sandler comedy I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry into second place.The magic was waning for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix however, which fell to number three. Hairspray, starring John Travolta in a big-screen version of the Broadway musical, was also down one place at number four.Welsh beauty Catherine Zeta-Jones managed to cook up a storm though - her restaurant-based romantic comedy No Reservations was the week's second-highest new entry at five, making a tasty $11.8 million (£5.9 million) at the box office.
