The Princess And The Frog

The Princess And The Frog

The Princess and the Frog has leapt to the top of the U.S. box office in its third weeks of release jumping a massive fifteen places to take the number one spot.

The movie sees Disney return to the traditional animation methods as the team behind this all singing and all dancing number brought up The Little Mermaid and Aladdin.

Set in the city of New Orleans comes a modern twist on a classic tale, featuring a beautiful girl named Tiana, a frog prince who desperately wants to be human again, and a fateful kiss that leads them both on an adventure through the mystical bayous of Louisiana.

The Blind Side, which could see Sandra Bullock in line for some gongs this awards season for her performance, fell on place to number two.

There was just one new entry inside the top ten this week and that came in the form of Clint Eastwood’s latest movie Invictus.

The movie is a biopic of Nelson Mandela, played by Morgan Freeman, and is one of the early Oscar favourites.

The film tells the inspiring true story of how Nelson Mandela joined forces with the captain of South Africa’s rugby team to help unite their country.

Newly elected President Mandela knows his nation remains racially and economically divided in the wake of racial segregation.

Believing he can bring his people together through the universal language of sport, Mandela rallies South Africa’s rugby team as they make their historic run to the 1995 Rugby World Cup Championship match.

New Moon fell two places to four and A Christmas Carol fell just one place to round off the top five.
