The King’s Speech has remained at the top of the UK box office for the second consecutive week, holding off the challenge from new release The Green Hornet.

The movie, and in particular the central performance from Colin Firth, has been gaining major praise this week as Firth picked up Best Actor at the Golden Globes.

The film also notched up fourteen Bafta nods yesterday - the most nominated movie this year,

The King’s Speech took a further £4.4 million this weekend to stay as the UK’s favourite movie while The Green Hornet had to settle for second.

Following the death of his father, Britt Reid, heir to his father's large company, teams up with his late dad's assistant Kato to become a masked crime fighting team.

The movie sees a return to the big screen for Seth Rogen as he teams up with Michel Gondry, in what is his first movie since Be Kind Rewind.

Danny Boyle’s latest film 127 Hours slipped just a single place to number three with Gulliver’s Travels staying at fourth.

Little Fockers fell two places to round off the top five while Love and Other Drugs, which sees Anne Hathaway reunite with Jake Gyllenhaal, stayed at six.

The Next Three Days was down two from five to seven while Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 1 was down one at eight.

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader remained at nine while Tron: Legacy rounded off the top ten - dropping two places from last week’s number eight.
