Mark Wahlberg admits that he has been dying to get into comedy movies.
Having already enjoyed a box office hit with Date Night, in which he starred alongside Tina Fey and Steve Carrell, Wahlberg will be back on the big screen later this year with The Other Guys.
The movie is a buddy cop film which sees The Departed star team up with Will Ferrell, Samuel L Jackson and Dwayne Johnson.
Speaking to ComingSoon he said: "I've been dying to do a comedy, and these guys took me to dinner and bought a bunch of nice wine and said, "Do you want to do a movie?" I said, "Are you kidding me?"
"If you do the wrong kind of comedy you never get a chance to do it again if you come from my background. Having an opportunity to work with these guys was a real dream come true.
"Then they actually went through with it and wrote this part that was right up my alley, and I get to work with this guy so it's a no-brainer for me."
With The Lovely Bones and Date Night already under his belt this year the work has been coming in thick and fast for the actor.
Also due for release this year is The Fighter, a movie that Wahlberg has been attached to for a long time, which centres on the life of boxer Micky Ward.
Directed by David O'Russell the movie also stars Christian Bale, Amy Adams and Melissa Leo.
