Mark Wahlberg believes that his new movie The Fighter is the best film that he has been in.
The movie is a drama about boxer "Irish" Micky Ward's unlikely road to the world light welterweight title, with Wahlberg taking on the role of Ward.
Directed by David O. Russell the movie also stars Christian Bale, Amy Adams and Melissa Leo and Wahlberg has called project a very 'special movie'.
Speaking to Collider he said: "It’s the best film that I’ve been in.
"Well, it’s the best story that I’ve been apart of and we made the best possible version of the movie by bringing David O. Russell onboard to rewrite it and to direct it.
"We always knew that it was a great drama, but there’s a lot of humour as well as emotion, and obviously, you know, Mickey Ward goes against all odds and wins the title. But it’s very real, it’s a special movie."
Wahlberg turns his attention to comedy next month, his second of the year after appearing in Date Night, as he teams up with Will Ferrell for The Other Guys.
