Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs
Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs has tied with Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen to top the U.S. box office both grossing $42.5 million.
Ice Age 3 follows the likes of Sid and Manny as their jungle home becomes inhabited by dinosaurs. In recent years the Ice Age franchise has become a real hit and this number one spot comes off the back of the prequel, which grossed over $651 million, back in2006.
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen continues to dominate cinema screens around the world as it's weekend gross has taken the film's U.S. total to $293 million, in just two weeks.
There was more box office success for Johnny Depp who's portrayal of bank robber John Dillinger in Public Enemies opened at number one.
Directed by Michael Mann the film follows Dillinger as he robs the banks that are the reason behind the Depression of the thirties.
The Proposal fell two places from two to four and it was also a two place for The Hangover as it rounded off the top five.
