Fast & Furious 5 was the only movie to break £1 million at the UK box office this week as it stormed to the number one spot.
Vin Diesel and Paul Walker return for a fifth movie in the franchise, which is once again directed by Justin Lin.
Dominic and his crew find themselves on the wrong side of the law once again as they try to switch lanes between a ruthless drug lord and a relentless federal agent.
The movie took £5.3 million in it's opening weekend to comfortably take the top spot from Scream 4.
Rio continues to thrill audiences as it remain at two while Arthur, which sees Russell Brand take over the role from Dudley Moore, could only manage third.
It was a disappointing performance from the comedy movie, which has been heavily promoted, as the movie failed to make £1million.
Scream 4 was down three at this week's number four while Beastly, a modern day re-telling of Beauty and the Beast, was new at five.
Hop was down one at six while Red Riding Hood was another three place faller as it was down to seven from last week's number four.
Source Code was down two while TT3D: Closer to the Edge was the final new entry inside the top ten this week at nine.
Limitless rounded off the top ten.
