Director Michael Bay has been told he can't destroy Washington, D.C. in the third Transformers movie.
According to The Washington Post newspaper, the moviemaker's request to film action sequences on U.S. President Barack Obama's doorstep has been turned down by city officials and security experts.
Bay reportedly had hopes to stage one car-chase sequence in and around the National Mall.
Bill Line, a spokesman for the Park Service, confirms Bay was told his plans would have to change: "A lot of this could be more appropriately shot in a Hollywood studio. The National Mall is not an area in which Americans come to see high-tech action movies being shot."
