Plans to bring 24 to the big screen have hit a stumbling block - movie studio executives have rejected the latest script submitted by State of Play writer Billy Ray, according to a report.
The show came to an end last year (10) after eight seasons on air, but producers subsequently confirmed plans to turn 24 into a film.
However, fans are now facing a longer wait to see Sutherland's character Jack Bauer leaping into cinemas - bosses at 20th Century Fox have scrapped Ray's most recent plot efforts, reports Entertainment Weekly.
24's executive producer Howard Gordon insists discussions about the storyline are still ongoing as they search for the perfect plot.
He tells EW.com, "I understand Tony Scott (director/producer) is meeting with Kiefer to talk about ideas.
"People are still talking about it."
