Ed Helms

Ed Helms returns to the big screen this week as he reprises the role of Stu Price in The Hangover - Part II - which comes two years after the huge success of the original.

The Hangover was the biggest comedy of 2009 when it came in under the radar during the summer of 2009 - but this time around all eyes are on Helms and co as they try to recreate the magic.

Helms began his career in stand up comedy before moving into TV with The Daily Show - before making appearances in Arrested Development and Cheap Seats: Without Ron Parker.

And while he did have some movie work in the early noughties with Blackballed: The Bobby Dikes Story and Evan Almighty it was TV that gave him his big break.

In 2006 Helms landed the role of Andy Bernard in the American version of The Office - which saw Steve Carell lead the cast.

He joined the cast in the third series of the hit show and has been a regular since joining. And while working on The Office movie roles continued with Confessions of a Shopaholic, Semi-Pro and Meet Dave.

However he would have to wait until 2009 to get his big breakthrough movie role as The Hangover hit the big screen.

Todd Philips was in the director’s chair and Helms teamed up with Bradley Cooper, Justin Bartha and Zach Galifianakis.

The Hangover was a hit with both the critics and audiences as it went on to gross in excess of $467 million and picked up a Golden Globe.

We have already seen Helms on the big screen this year with another comedy Cedar Rapids - which also starred John C.Reilly and Anne Heche.

But everyone has been waiting for The Hangover - Part II, this time around it will not sneak in under the radar but is one of the most highly anticipated movies of 2011.

Right after the bachelor party in Las Vegas, Phil, Stu, Alan, and Doug jet to Thailand for Stu's wedding. Stu's plan for a subdued pre-wedding brunch, however, goes seriously awry.

Phillips is back in the director’s chair second time around - he also penned the script with Scot Armstrong and Craig Mazin.

With the excitement surrounding the movie The Hangover - Part II looks set to top box office charts all over the world.

And the actor has a whole host of projects in the pipeline over the coming twelve months - he has already completed Jeff Who Live At Home while The Muppets is also in post-production.

Helms is currently filming The Lorax - an animation movie that also boats the voice talents of Zac Efron and Danny DeVito.

The Hangover - Part II is released 26th May.
