Fast Five

Fast Five

Throughout the years of the film industry cars and car chases have been a major part of the films themselves.

The Fast and Furious franchise is second to none when it comes to focusing on these great beasts. Every film has topped the previous one, with the variations of cars, the street races and some insane modifications.

The whole gang is back together to create a mind-numbing collection of fantastic cars, heart pounding race scenes and edge of your seat action!  To celebrate this release we look at some of the best cars in movie history.

- You know he means business when Batman shows up in The Batmobile.

It has changed appearance over the years from film to film but I think that you’ll agree that the recent addition, seen in The Dark Knight, is the most monstrous, most terrifying and the most amazing!

- The A-Team van, neither the slickest ride nor the smallest but is defiantly one of the most recognized and effective trucks in film.

This animal transports Hannibal Smith, Face, B.A Baracus and Murdock throughout every mission they embark on, bombarding through every obstacle on the way. I love it when a plan comes together!

The Caped vigilante cruises the streets fighting crime and demolishes anyone or anything that is courageous enough to defy him.

- An old time classic from The Dukes of Hazzard, none other than The General Lee. This gorgeous orange Dodge Charger carries the Duke cousins as they race around Hazzard County evading corrupt county commissioner Boss Hog and his inept county sheriff.

- What gets more iconic than Chitty Chitty Bang Bang? Driven by the Potts family, this car has gizmos and gadgets to galore that miraculously make it fly.

When on the run from evil it’s a great way to make a speedy get away!

- Regardless of your age everyone knows the formidable red white and blue modified Mini Cooper’s used in the Italian Job.

Definitely a case of the pen is mightier than the sword! These little power houses were used to cart millions of pounds worth of gold around the streets of Turin.

- The De Lorean. The most hi-tech, the strangest looking and possibly the most in your face car of the last few decades!

Needing 1.21 giggawatts of power it propels Marti and Doc Brown back and forth through various dimensions and time zones.

Although its and outrageous car, the thought of something like this being remotely possible just makes you think of the places you can go. Maybe somewhere where you don’t need roads!

- Of course, who could forget the sleek, sexy gadget rammed Aston DB5! This beautiful Goldeneye classic had absolutely everything for every secret mission.

From a hidden GPS system in behind the ashtray to revolving number plates and a bullet proof shield at the rear right down to a chilled champagne compartment in the centre column!

It really does have everything for the world’s best spy!

- Herbie, a family favorite! The car with the most personality of all, capable of driving himself around with a flamboyant behavior, plastered with his trademark red, white and blue racing stripes! A real contender for racing!

- In Fast and Furious 5 this magnificent, well balanced GT40 is part of the job pulled off by Dom and his gang.

But there is more to this car than it seems.  Check out Fast & Furious 5 on April 21st to find out exactly what makes this car special!
