Subaru Impreza packs a punch
If you are the kind of driver that wants to feel like world rally champion on the back road home then the Subaru Impreza wrx sti 330s is the car to give you what you want.
The standard 296bhp sti model will rocket you to 60 in around five seconds with an urgency that makes you feel as if you have rocket boosters fitted and to add to the feeling the same acceleration continuies right through to above the legal limit.
The only down on this is the driver has to wait until past the 4000 prm point for thats when the turbo cuts in with a savagery clearly intended to make up for its somewhat lazy feel at low revs.
The Impreza wrx sti really delivers is in the way it never forgets that its key role is not just to deliver up just speed but make the drive fun fun.
The wrx sti also gives value for money, if that can be said for a car costing in the range of £30k, but the equipment level is outstanding which gives it a clear advantage over its Mitsubishi Evo-x arch rival.
Unfortunately to get all this in a true rally bread car means it is pricey to run, but the usual Subaru qualities of second to none reliability, everday practicality and a sense of belonging to an elite club of motorists goes some way to softening the dent in your wallet, or allowing you to justify the spend..
Not your typical ladies car, but their is still plenty of room for the kids, (they will love the school run in this) and the shopping. I found it attracted a lot of admiring glances from the blokes. It is a pleasure to drive!
