Being a Ford, the list of options is endless as is the dedicated list of accessories so options on my test car included metallic paint, parking sensors, an Advanced Bluetooth hands free and Voice Control system, plus the luxury pack comprising of DEATC and full leather. This pushes the price tag from £18,795 up to £20,695 so don't get too carried away when personalising your CC.
Driviewise she is simply dreamy just like a caramel chocolate and certainly restored my faith in Ford cars. She is effortless and so smooth, running through the five gears, though sometimes I felt she could do with a sixth. The Electro hydraulic power steering takes just 2.9 turns lock to lock so easily whizzes in and out of the parking bays - oh and the car actually fits the ever deceasing parking bays, and is speed related so tightens up at higher speeds as well as helping to reduce fuel consumption. If there is one thing Ford have got right over the years, its their excellent reputation of driving quality and the CC is absolutely no exception to this. She was so comfortable and pleasing to drive I could have moved in. With the roof open, there is very little sign of scuttle shake often associated with cabriolets and it was really noticeable the lack of noise in the cabin from the outside as I successfully managed to have sensible conversations with my children! How refreshing is that! Ask me again after the school holidays.
Keeping us all safe and secure, the Ford Focus CC Titanium comes, as standard with driver and passenger airbags, side airbags, a Rollover Protection Device that uses electronic sensors and a gyroscope to detect impending rollovers, three point safety belts for all seats with pretensioners and load limiters for both front seats, while the well proven Ford horizontally stroking steering column and safety pedals all combine with RPD to maximise occupant restraint and protection.
The precise suspension tuning is the active and sold base for the safety package and as a part of Ford PrecisionDrive, it helps drivers intuitively to rely on their Ford car in any driving condition. ABS is standard with EBD and special attention has been made to brake responsiveness. A Thatcham Category 1 approved alarm secures the CC.
I really really enjoyed this new Ford Focus Coupe Cabriolet. Not only did she look the business, stirring up jealousy amongst the neighbours, all the controls are easy to use and very driver friendly, the children fitted, I think that is a benefit - and we were all very safe thanks to her extensive safety package. But the ultimate accolade for any car is the ride and handling to which this CC is faultless, delivering a simply superb, comfortable and smooth drive.
