Fewer distractions

Fewer distractions

Recent research from totaljobs has revealed that one in four UK workers (28%) would change jobs for remote working options, signalling a workforce trend that continues to grow.

In fact, workers tell us that remote working is one of the top five most important benefits when looking for a new job, and here’s 10 reasons why:

Improves productivity

A fifth of UK workers believe that they are more productive when working from home, and with the same amount of employers agreeing, time spent working away from the office could be the answer to people increasing their output.

Builds trust

Working from home is the perfect way to improve the relationship between an employee and their employer, as over a quarter (28%) of people believe that the ability to work from home shows that their boss trusts them.

Fewer distractions

By removing distractions from the hustle and bustle of the office, staff can focus more easily on the task at hand and have a productive work day.

Work/life balance

One in four jobseekers begin their job search because they want to improve their work/life balance. With technology encouraging an always-on work culture, striking the right balance is clearly becoming increasingly important to workers.

Flexibility for working parents

Remote working can help avoid hugely talented and skilled people leaving the workforce due to childcare commitments, as there are now more opportunities for parents to work around busy home schedules and school runs.

Reduces sick leave

A quarter of companies offer remote working in a bid to reduce staff sick leave. By discouraging people from struggling into work when feeling unwell, the chance of them calling in sick decreases, alongside the spread of germs across open plan offices.

Reduces stress

Alongside physical health, having this work option available can positively impact mental health too. Workers like the ability to work from home, which in turn helps to reduce stress without the pressure of an intense office or overwhelming workspace.

A real money-saver

The commute is a huge factor in job satisfaction, and by removing the need to travel long distances every day can help employees save huge amounts of money. Plus, it helps avoid the temptation of expensive lunches and coffee runs.

Good for your relationships

Remote working also helps the whole family, with more time spent at home with partners and children, and less spent on crowded carriages. Two fifths of employers are now introducing remote working options to help give their employees a better work-life balance.

More time for your pets

Spending quality time with pets is not something to be underestimated, as this an area that can bring great satisfaction and really enhance working life from the immediate comfort of home.
