VV Brown works the Geek Chic look
Fashion has gone a bit geeky recently, as celebs like VV Brown champion big specs and clashing prints to make the ultimate fashion statement.
We forecasted this as a Trend Alert back in December and since then we've seen Madonna, Ally Hillfiger and Margherita Missoni all channeling their inner geek.
It's not the easiest of trends to work though, granted, as sometimes you can end up looking like a fashion disaster, when all you're trying to do is be a bit creative with your style.
We always thought this trend was inspired a bit by Harry Potter and his horn-rimmed spectacles, but having seen how some of the celebs are pulling off this look, we've had to reconsider.
VV Brown's recent take on the trend included wearing a multi-coloured crocheted dress, complete with gladiatorial sandals and a pair of uber large specs, all topped off with a retro quiff hair do.
Trends on the catwalk and worn by celebs may work on certain people, i.e. supermodels with a unique sense of style, but on the ordinary person it would just look plain daft.
Agyness Deyn gets away with some horrendous style choices, as does Pixie Geldof, just because of who they are and what they represent in the fashion world.
They too have sampled this trend in the past, working clashing prints, knee-high socks and super sized specs to the max, with no-one batting an eyelid.
