The fashion world is set to honour all things Scottish next week when the New York event, Dressed To Kilt will put the spotlight on the Scots including Christopher Kane.

The event features kilted gents and plaid-clad ladies strutting their stuff down the runway for an A-list of judges. Traditional kilts as well as fashion-forward items are showcased in a display of Scottish pride.

Host Sir Sean Connery says: "Dressed to Kilt 2009 is shaping up to be the best Dressed to Kilt ever, with more Scots and celebrity friends of Scotland participating than ever before. I’m looking forward to celebrating Homecoming here in New York at Dressed to Kilt and again this summer in Scotland."

The event has grown from a simple kilt showcase into the highest profile event in the United States showcasing all things Scottish - from fabric and fashion to art and culture.

The New York event will see up and coming Scot designers Olanic, Aimee McWilliams and Bebaroque show their work alongside established designers Graeme Black and Hawick Cashmere. It is not just those with a Scottish heritage though, designers with a penchant for all things tartan, including Henry Holland and Vivienne Westwood will also be involved.

A host of celebrities are lined up to model for the event including Ashley Jensen, Ed Westwick, Donald Trump, Brendan Fraser and Sir Sean Connery.

Dressed To Kilt takes place on March 30th so dig out your kilt and book yourself on the first flight to the US!
