Marc Jacobs was honoured Fashion Group International's annual Night of Stars gala.
The acclaimed fashion designer and his business partner Robert Duffy were presented with the Superstar Award by controversial pop star Miley Cyrus at the ceremony on Tuesday, which took place at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City.
Miley - who was sported a stunning green Marc Jacobs gown - has known the designer duo since the age of 16 and was honoured to present the design duo with the award.
She enthused to WWD: "Robert used to have me come and hang out with them before I even got involved with fashion. They are a really good team. It's important to have these kind of people around, who are as involved and successful in what they do."
And if the 'Wrecking Ball' hitmaker's comments weren't enough, Marc and Robert were treated to a surprise performance by legendary singer Aretha Franklin, who serenaded them with her classic song 'Respect' as they took to the stage to accept their accolade.
Marc took the opportunity to pay tribute to his long-time business partner, telling Robert: "You are my partner in every sense, except the biblical one - we've never even kissed each other. But I look forward to our partnership continuing, as the most meaningful relationship I will ever know."
The acclaimed fashion designer recently left his position as creative director of Louis Vuitton to concentrate on a worldwide rollout of his self-titled fashion line.
