The event - which previously took place in the courtyard of Somerset House - will now be held in a car park in Brewer Street in the heart of the West End, the British Fashion Council announced yesterday (27.04.15).

The new venue will house the shows, the BFC show space and designer showrooms and has been described as "one of London's most vibrant, diverse and creative hubs".

Chief Executive of the British Fashion Council, Caroline Rush, said: "The long term growth of the UK's designer fashion market is reflected geographically in this move that will see London Fashion Week designers showcasing collections in one of London's most vibrant, diverse and creative hubs set within a mile of Bond Street, Dover Street, Mount Street, Oxford Street and Regent Street.

"The new and exciting venue has already been dubbed as Brewer Street's 'Fashion Park' and will offer freedom and flexibility to designers who will be able to transform the show space to reflect their own aesthetics and identity."

The BFC are hoping the move will help London Fashion Week "increase its footprint across the capital".

It won't be the first time the building has been used to show collections with House of Holland, Richard Nicoll and Antonio Berardi having used the art-deco space to present their ready to wear lines in the past.
