Cara Delevingne's Met Ball look took 11 hours to create.
The 22-year-old supermodel - who sported intricate oriental-inspired body art under her Stella McCartney jumpsuit at the event in New York on Monday night (04.05.15) - was forced to stand still for close to half a day while tattoo artist Keith McCurdy painted the designs on her body.
Keith - who goes by the name of Bang Bang - added that the blonde beauty was keen to have even more of her skin covered in the flower pattern, but was unable to due to her strict schedule.
He told the New York Post newspaper's Page Six column: "I wanted to do something that added to Cara's look without stealing the show. The Met Gala is a big stage to bring tattoos to and I wanted to do something that worked.
"Cara wanted the body art to occupy mores space and have her body be covered in it, but we weren't able to do it with the time constraints."
The inkings - which will last for 10 days - consisted of flower blossoms, birds and a fan to reflect the gala's 'China: Through The Looking Glass' theme.
Cara - who was spotted hanging out with designer Stella during the event - wore her hair scraped back and finished off her look with her signature bushy brows and heavy eye make up.
