High street store Zara is not going to follow the latest trend for celebrity collections.

The Spanish retailer has no plans to follow in the footsteps of Topshop, New Look, Mango and H&M.

An unnamed executive from the company recently told Reuters: "Celebrities may work for other brands, but not for us. "It’s all about speed."

Zara prides itself on high quality designs inspired by key catwalk trends with no gimmicks attached.

New York trend spotter Marian Salzman, of the JWT advertising agency told vogue:" Zara is right to stay away from celebrities.

"It doesn't mean it's always going to be that way. At some point, they may have to commission stars if that's what the customers want."
